Almaty - Kazakhstan 6 Days

Six days and five nights in Almaty, Kazakhstan, with five nights at the 4-star Hotel Kazzhol Almaty with daily breakfast, four included sightseeing tours (Almaty city, Shymbulak mountain resort, Alma-Arasan, and a full-day trip to Kolsai Lakes with Charyn Canyon), a private car with driver throughout, and airport transfers. Available on selected September and October travel dates — autumn in Kazakhstan, when the Charyn Canyon cliffs stand against clear skies and the mountain forests turn gold. International flights are not included — this is a land-only package.

Package overview

This Almaty tour package covers six days and five nights in Kazakhstan's largest city, split between city sightseeing and full-day trips into the surrounding mountains and canyons. Five nights at Hotel Kazzhol Almaty (4-star) with daily breakfast, four included tours with a private car and driver, and airport pick-up and drop-off are all part of the package. Vehicle size scales with group size: sedan for two travelers, Toyota Alphard for four, Toyota Hiace for six — so the same package works for couples, families, and small groups. Daily tours run from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (the Kolsai + Charyn day is longer given the distance). Available on selected September and October dates. International flights and Kazakhstan visas (where applicable) are not included and are arranged separately by the traveler.

Where you'll stay

All five nights are at Hotel Kazzhol Almaty, a 4-star hotel in central Almaty, with daily breakfast at the hotel. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 12:00 PM. Room facilities and confirmed room category are set by the hotel and shared at booking.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Almaty

Land at Almaty International Airport (ALA). Your private driver meets you at arrivals and takes you to Hotel Kazzhol Almaty. Check in from 3:00 PM, settle in, and take the rest of the day at your own pace.

Day 2: Almaty city tour

Breakfast, then a guided city tour with the private driver. The typical route covers Panfilov Park with the wooden Zenkov Cathedral (one of the tallest wooden buildings in the world), Kok-Tobe hill by cable car for the view over the city, and the Green Bazaar for local produce and dried fruits. Republic Square and the shopping street of Zhibek Zholy (Silk Road) fill an afternoon. Tour hours 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Day 3: Shymbulak mountain resort

Breakfast, then the private driver takes you to Shymbulak, Kazakhstan's premier mountain resort in the Zailiysky Alatau range, roughly 25 km southeast of central Almaty at an altitude of around 2,200 meters. In autumn the ski slopes are closed but the cable car up to the summit (around 3,200 m) still runs — the mountain views over the Tien Shan range are the highlight. Medeu skating rink, the world's highest Olympic-size skating rink at 1,691 m, sits on the drive up. Return to the hotel.

Day 4: Alma-Arasan

Breakfast, then head south of Almaty into the mountains toward Alma-Arasan Gorge — a natural area within the Ile-Alatau National Park. Alpine forests, hot springs, and river valleys make up the landscape. Autumn is one of the best times to see it: golden birch and larch, cooler air, and clear mountain views. Return to the hotel by 6:00 PM.

Day 5: Kolsai Lakes and Charyn Canyon

The biggest day of the trip. Early breakfast, then a long drive east from Almaty (roughly 3 to 3.5 hours each way) to two of Kazakhstan's most striking natural sights. Kolsai Lakes sit in the Kungey Alatau range near the Kyrgyz border — three alpine lakes at different altitudes, ringed by spruce forests that turn gold in October. Charyn Canyon, often called Kazakhstan's Grand Canyon, is the standout: red sandstone cliffs cut by the Charyn River over millions of years, with the Valley of Castles as the main viewing point. Long day, but the landscape makes it the highlight for many travelers. Return to Almaty in the evening.

Day 6: Departure

Breakfast at the hotel, check out by 12:00 PM, and the private driver takes you to Almaty International Airport for your onward flight.

Important information

This offer runs on selected September and October travel dates and is subject to availability at the time of booking. International flights are NOT part of this package — travelers arrange their own flights to and from Almaty International Airport. Airport transfers on both ends and all in-country transportation ARE included. A passport with more than six months of validity from the travel date is required. Kazakhstan visa policy varies by nationality: UAE citizens (Emirati passport holders) enter Kazakhstan visa-free for up to 30 days; residents on other passports should check their visa requirements before booking. Airport arrival time should be planned for at least two hours before scheduled departure. Vehicle for tours depends on group size — sedan for two travelers, Toyota Alphard for four, Toyota Hiace for six. Standard daily tour hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; the Kolsai Lakes and Charyn Canyon day is longer given the round-trip drive (roughly 3 to 3.5 hours each way), so start earlier and finish later on that day.
