UAE citizens (Emirati passport holders) can enter Russia visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period under a bilateral agreement, but registration through the RuID app is required at least 72 hours before arrival to generate an entry QR code. UAE residents holding other nationalities need either an e-visa, available to over 55 nationalities for a 30-day stay, or a standard tourist visa arranged through a registered Russian tour operator.

May to September offers the mildest weather in Moscow, while Sochi's summer season runs from May to October along the Black Sea coast. Winter turns Sochi's Rosa Khutor into a ski resort, while Moscow's winter regularly drops below freezing.
