UAE citizens (Emirati passport holders) travel visa-free to Azerbaijan for up to 90 days within any 180-day period, under a mutual agreement in place since July 2023. UAE residents holding other nationalities have two options: a 30-day visa on arrival at Baku airport if their UAE residence permit has at least 6 months of validity remaining or an online ASAN e-Visa in advance if it doesn't.
April to June and September to October offer the mildest weather for exploring both Baku and Gabala. Summer suits Gabala's cooler mountain air better than Baku's heat, while winter turns Gabala into a ski destination at the Tufandag resort.
