UAE citizens (Emirati passport holders) can enter Bosnia and Herzegovina visa-free for up to 90 days under a mutual exemption agreement signed in November 2023. UAE residents holding other nationalities can also enter without a separate Bosnian visa if they already hold a valid Schengen, US, or UK visa, staying up to 30 days; otherwise, a Bosnian visa application through the embassy in Abu Dhabi is required.
May to September offers the warmest weather for exploring Sarajevo, Mostar, and Travnik on foot, with July and August the liveliest for festivals. Winters turn cold, especially in Sarajevo, where temperatures regularly drop below freezing.
