The Sulaymaniyah Mosque includes four minarets, and the reason for this is: To the rank of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, he is the fourth among the sultans of the Ottoman Empire after the conquest of Istanbul, and the minarets possess ten honors that indicate the rank of Sultan Suleiman the tenth among the sultans of the Ottoman Empire. Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent wanted to build a luxurious mosque, so he entrusted the task of doing so to the most famous architect of Islamic architecture, Sinan Pasha. The construction of the mosque and the complex surrounding it began in 1550 AD and was completed in 1557 AD. After Sinan prepared the maps, designs, ideas, and models and placed them in the hands of the Sultan, he admired them and gave his approval for them, and opened the door of his closet to implement them without delay. The architect Sinan said about him: This mosque is my greatest achievement. In addition to the college, the area of the mosque is thirty-seven dunams.
